What we believe
Statement of Faith
We are an Independent Baptist Church, that sings the old hymns and uses the King James Bible.
- The Scriptures
- We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and that God has preserved His Word for English speaking people in the King James Version.
- The True God
- We believe that there is only one true & living God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, & Holy Ghost.
- The Person and Work of Jesus Christ
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and God the Son. He is eternal, but He willingly took upon Him the form of His creation, was begotten of the Holy Ghost and born of a virgin to die for the sins of the entire human race.
- The Resurrection
- Jesus Christ died on the cross in sacrifice for sin, was buried, and the third day bodily rose from the dead. After appearing to many witnesses in His resurrected body, He later ascended back to Heaven.
- Salvation
- We believe that man can be forgiven of his sins and receive eternal life from God as a free gift that was purchased by the sacrifice of God’s Son. Salvation is not earned by man’s work but received by repentance of sin, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
- The Christian Life
- We believe that when a person truly repents of their sins and receives Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, they become a new creature. The old sinful ways will be replaced by a new righteous life that reflects the work of the Holy Spirit of God on the inside of the believer.
- The Church
- We believe that the New Testament Church is a local assembly of born again baptized believers who work together to fulfill God’s commission of winning the world to Jesus Christ.
- The Return of Christ
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will return bodily to the earth as He said, and that His return will begin with the rapture of the saved. This will be followed by 7 years of Great Tribulation upon the earth, and the rule of the antichrist. At the end of the seven years, Jesus will return to the earth to destroy the army of the antichrist and establish his 1,000-year kingdom upon the earth.
- The Eternal State
- We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment.
The Gospel
A story of redemption
The story of redemption is the story of a just and loving God calling lost and rebellious creatures back to Himself. He has been writing this grand and glorious narrative of His goodness and grace since before time began.
We enter into His story at creation. For His glory, God created this world good and peaceful and offered us the opportunity of unbroken fellowship with Himself. However, as Genesis 3 tells us, things went wrong. Through one man’s disobedience, we fell from this joyful state of fellowship. Sin entered our hearts, and with that sin, the world became twisted and fractured.
The harmony and peace that creation once enjoyed was damaged by sin and broken in disrepair. Since that time, God has patiently and purposefully continued the story of redemption. God sent His only Son, Jesus, who came and lived a perfect, sinless life and offered Himself as a sacrifice for our sin on the cross. Jesus endured God’s wrath on behalf of sin. It was a dark and horrendous moment of suffering and death, yet peace and beauty and hope burst forth as Christ rose three days later from the grave. What was once broken God restored through His Son. Through Christ we are offered restoration and reconciliation. God takes that which is broken and makes it new. He takes that which is condemned to hell and offers justification instead. The Father invites you into relationship with Him and into the newness of life Christ offers. Will you accept His invitation?
First, realize God loves you
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Next, realize you are a sinner (we all are)
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
Then, realize that sin has a price
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
Realize that Jesus Christ paid the price for your sin
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
Finally, ask Jesus Christ to be your Savior
Believing His forgiveness and promise of eternal life.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13
